Made by Betsey (not Betsy LaLakes) referred to as maker of other baskets but another; she was a sort of medicine man--rather she put a hex or jinx on people; it is told (and I know the man that arrested her); rather was told by her husband that her mother was very old and she killed her and covered her body with bushes-- in fact he lead the authorities to the body. It happened off the Reservation and she was arrested and put in jail in KF; a jury selected and she was freed…people were dumbfounded when she was acquitted and her power grew as they said she was freed as the white men of the jury were also afraid of her powers. Outer pattern fall into the flight of geese, the inner is big dance--happy time---lots people he come.
